Why it caught our eye

Joe’s first comparison was Factorio made of cells, and that’s still the quickest route to why we’re watching Bioneers. Building an efficient machine is one thing. Building something that needs to survive its own biology is another.

Place muscle, bone, fat, skin and nerve cells, connect the organs and defend against viruses. Then decide whether your creation becomes a predator, herbivore or parasite. The factory-builder instinct to optimise everything could produce some deeply questionable organisms.
