Shroom and Gloom ·

No blocking. You’ll have to eat your way out.

Two decks, a fungal dungeon and a very practical approach to defeated enemies.

Why it caught our eye

A deckbuilder with no blocking immediately asks an interesting question: where does your health come from? In Shroom and Gloom, the answer is dinner. Roast the things trying to kill you, or turn them into soup.

One deck handles exploration, opening doors and foraging. The other fights. We like that the journey and the combat have their own card systems, tied together by this grubby little survival logic. The hand-drawn dungeon does plenty of the selling on its own.
